This is a Fiat F600 balancer. From std theses engines had an oil pump incorporated in the front of a cast iron pulley hub.

We have redesigned the original part to suit one of our MetalJacket S.F.I. Dampers consisting of a 1045 steel hub, 6061 alloy dampening hub and Steel dampening cover held together with our tried and proven TUFFBOND process. In their std trim these engines were harsh as they had no dampening at all.

The Toyota JZ engine family is a series of inline-6 automobile engines. A replacement for the M-series inline-6 engines, the JZ engines were 24-valve DOHC engines. The JZ engine was offered in 2.5 and 3.0 litre versions.

The 3.0 L (2997 cc) 2JZ has been produced since 1991 (first released in the 1991 Toyota Aristo). Cylinder bore was 86 mm (3.39 in) and stroke was 86 mm (3.39 in). VVT-i variable valve timing was added later in 1997 for the 1998 model year.

Nissan RB30 VL commodore balancer. Part number 306210

This is a ROSS METALJACKET balancer to suit Holden RB30 Nissan engined cars. The single vee belt and the offset of the power steering multi-rib pulley are the only difference between this balancer and the Nissan RB engines.

Nissan VQ35 SFI dampening

PART NUMBER :- 306230

This is our new VQ35 balancer to suit factory crank angle sensor and computer. It features steel Hub and removable pulley packs, the current diameters are at std diameter. This is made to SFI specs and can be issued with certification. The dampening part is removable also has location  for dry sump drive to be mounted.

These images show a red Hard anodised 7075 aerospace alloy crank hub which is an option at the moment. The alloy hub is good for weight and it also prevents galling on the crank nose. We will be introducing hard anodised pulley packs as an option in the future.

This Kit features a crank angle sensor, sensor mount and a Crank trigger Pulley .

“So what” you might say, well the Famous Nissan RB engines have a few areas needing refinement especially when worked past their normal limits.

One of these needed areas is their computer referencing methods and locations.

The engineers at ROSS have designed a fancy rigid sensor mount and a wheel which are fitted simply by unbolting the Ross Metaljacket balancer rear pulley and degree wheel and bolting on a rear pulley that has a trigger wheel machined into the pulley so it all mounts up without any special machining at a machine shop, we have already done it for you.

We have manufactured a simple fix for power steering belt problems on the Nissan RB engine range.

How does it work?

The distance between the power steering pulley and the crank shaft pulley is nearly halved, not allowing the powersteering belt to get the huge whip up as they do on these engines thus preventing the belt from walking off the pulleys.

This simple mounted idler pulley fits directly under the power steering adjuster bracket along with a spacer to make up the difference in the offset to the adjuster screw lock.

With the availability of cranks to suit late model efi Ford windsors with a bit of stroke about them non existent, you can only buy early carburetted engine cranks , this creates a problem with the balance of the rotating mass especially if your are running the in a late car with efi computers.

ROSS has created a balancer that carries the early counterweight 28ounce and the trigger wheel with the late multi rib pulley on the front and if you want to run a blower off the the front it is designed ready for a blower pulley to mount inside the multi rib pulley.

This man Brian McCosker was a good friend of mine and he was a world champion, he was killed when his boat crashed at taree on the easter weekend. This is a tribute to him.

The ROSS Tuffbond company has its beginnings in the man Ross Clothier C.E.O. who has been the driving force behind the company’s evolution and success since its inception in 1981.

A qualified Mechanical Engineer, Ross Clothier is the colourful character behind ROSS Tuffbond who started out in the NSW Railways workshop in 1966 as a Fitter & Machinist, joined the Sydney Water Police, and then combined the two by producing handbuilt speed boat parts in the early ’70′s. From there Ross moved into a maintenance job at a rubber factory, where he was led into designing Harmonic Balancers which wouldn’t slip when used on race engines.

Eventually Ross decided to take a punt and go it alone and setting up his own business known as Rosco Marine Services in 1981. Now able to apply his knowledge to his own designs, Ross went about designing and developing a rubber bonding technique for standard O.E.M. harmonic balancers  crank pulley dampers – specifically designed for use in Australia and now the world.

Specifically designed for marine boats and race cars, the company’s name evolved into ROSS Racing and through the marketing of the REPCO organisation the business grew which lead to the business expanding by designing components for the transport and bus sector from 1993 onwards.

The ROSS Racing business grew to incorporate more and more of the transport and bus components, as well as the existing automotive range of harmonic balancers / crank pulley dampers before too long, another name change was in order. This time, the company would become known as ROSS Tuffbond.

Today, ROSS Tuffbond business has grown into the largest and most respected manufacturer of harmonic balancers / crank pulley dampers, truck and bus components in all of Sydney Australia.

Ross recently received approval From the US SFI Foundation for his Dampners.
